Tina Fey’s autobiography Bossypants chronicles how this band/choir/theater nerd climbed her way through the rungs of comedy to end up being Saturday Night Live’s first female head writer and the writer and producer of her own quirky little show, 30 Rock, which has won itself several awards. Read by the author, Fey candidly addresses many episodes in her life from the crazy regulars at the Y where she worked while attending improv classes to near-death experiences on her honeymoon to infamously portraying Sarah Palin during the 2008 election. The audiobook also includes a PDF of some pretty amazing pictures.
Tina Fey has become, like, my new hero. Not only is she amazingly smart and hilarious, but some parts of our stories are similar, and it makes me feel good to know that I am not or was not the only going through these things; and she seems to be doing pretty darn well for herself. I would be totally okay if I turned into a woman like Tina Fey. This audiobook also made me gigglesnort multiple times because Fey’s delivery is perfect. It’s like 5 hours of the best Weekend Update jokes all in a row. I put in the first disc expecting to listen to a few chapters one evening. I finished it around 12:30 in the morning. I highly recommend this book.
